Your training data stays on your iPhone. This policy explains in detail what that means for the Bellwork app and for this website, bellworkapp.com.

The short version
Bellwork keeps everything you enter on your iPhone. There are no accounts, Bellwork servers, analytics, advertising or tracking, and we can't see your profile or your workouts. Your data only leaves the app when you do something that sends or saves it somewhere else, such as turning on Apple Health, exporting a file or writing to us. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
What the app stores
Bellwork saves what you enter and the settings you choose on your iPhone. That includes your profile and training preferences, your progression, your logged Bellwork workouts and other training, swing-test results, workout templates, settings, and any workout you're in the middle of.
None of this is uploaded to a Bellwork server, and we have no way to see it.
What the app doesn't collect
Bellwork has no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising or usage tracking. It never sends us your name, email address, location, contacts, device identifiers, profile or training data on its own. We don't sell personal data.
Training reminders and purchases
Training reminders are off until you turn them on. Bellwork schedules them on your iPhone at the time you choose, and iOS asks for your permission before the first one. You can turn them off in Bellwork's Settings or in iOS Settings.
Training reminders are a one-time purchase in the App Store. Apple handles the payment and your Apple Account, and we don't receive your name, email address or payment details. Bellwork only asks the App Store whether the purchase was made, so it can unlock reminders. Apple's handling of the purchase is described in Apple's privacy policy.
Apple Health
Apple Health is off until you turn it on, and iOS asks for your permission separately. You can change that permission at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings.
When reading is on, Bellwork reads recent workouts from Apple Health: the workout type, start and end time, duration, and an identifier so the same workout isn't shown twice. It also checks which app saved each workout, so it doesn't suggest workouts that Bellwork saved itself. It uses this only to suggest other training you might want to log. It doesn't read heart rate, calories, body weight, sleep or any other health data.
A workout read from Apple Health only affects your prescriptions after you tag its type and intensity yourself. Everything read from Apple Health stays on your iPhone, like the rest of your data.
When saving is on, Bellwork adds your completed kettlebell workouts to Apple Health. It never adds the other training you log, such as runs, walks or classes.
Exporting your data
You can export your data in Settings. The JSON export is a complete copy of Bellwork's database: your profile, progression, workout history, other training, swing-test results, workout templates, and any workout in progress. The CSV export is a spreadsheet of your logged Bellwork workouts, other training and swing tests, which opens in Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets.
Bellwork keeps each export under Saved exports and opens the iOS share sheet, so you can save or send a copy wherever you like. Exports stay in Bellwork until you delete them or delete the app. A copy you save or send somewhere else is handled by wherever you put it.
Exports are for your own records. Bellwork can't load them back in, so to move to a new iPhone, use Apple's device transfer or a device backup.
Backups
If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, Bellwork's data may be part of that backup and is handled like the rest of it. Bellwork doesn't run its own cloud backup or sync.
Deleting your data
Deleting Bellwork removes its database, its settings and the exports saved inside it. Copies you saved elsewhere, device backups, and workouts already added to Apple Health stay where they are.
This website
bellworkapp.com is a set of static pages. It uses no cookies, analytics or browser storage, and it embeds nothing from other companies.
The site is hosted in Germany by united-domains GmbH, Gautinger Straße 10, 82319 Starnberg. When you visit, united-domains records technical connection data in its server logs: the page you asked for, the date and time, your IP address and information about your browser. This is needed to deliver the site securely and to detect abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We don't use these logs to identify or profile visitors. According to united-domains, logs are usually kept for a few days and never longer than 60 to 90 days. The united-domains privacy notice has the details.
When you write to us
If you email us or use the contact form, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to answer you and to deal with your question, bug report or feedback. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in supporting and improving Bellwork, under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We keep the conversation only as long as we need it for your request, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
The contact form runs on Google Forms. It asks for your email address, a category and your message, and when you open it from Bellwork, the app fills in its version number. It doesn't ask for your name. Google Ireland Limited processes what you submit under Google's privacy policy.
Launch notifications
If you sign up to hear when Bellwork launches, we keep your email address for that one purpose, send you a single email when the app is out, and then delete your address. The sign-up form also runs on Google Forms. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing contact@bellworkapp.com.

Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to see, correct and delete the personal data we hold about you, to restrict how we use it, to get a copy of it and to object to its use. You can also complain to a data protection authority. The one responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LDI NRW).
These rights cover the data we actually receive, such as your emails to us and the website's server logs. Your training data stays on your iPhone, where we can't reach it. To use any of these rights, email contact@bellworkapp.com.
Changes
If the way Bellwork handles data changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
